RestartSailing Remote Sailing League

Over the summer we have been developing and trialing a new format, where sailors race at their local clubs. Using GPS tracker data we merge the results together from across all participating venues, taking into account course conditions and individual times, in effect to give a dynamic handicap for the boat, course and conditions. Over the 100+ races run, the results have been very encouraging and have given sailors a sense of purpose and engagement in these socially distanced times.
